Truly a “shöne tag”…

AT EUROPA PARK!

IMG_6146

Europa Park is a huge amusement park. How big is it? Well, it’s the largest park in Germany for sure. In Europe? It’s one of the most popular parks after Disneyland in Paris, France. Europa Park has hotel accommodations, all with their own theme, just like Disneyland in Paris. They even have camp resort accommodations in the form of Log Cabins, Chuck Wagons and Teepees. Call it the Wild Wild West Resort area. If you’re into camping, then Europa Park Camping site is for you, as well as its lake for swimming!

Driving to Rust, Germany from Switzerland was easy. It’s pretty much a straight drive. Arriving there and getting into their parking area was a breeze as well. Mind you though, you don’t want to arrive late, otherwise you will park all the way to the end…I know this first hand! We arrived right before Noon and we literally parked all the way to the back. That’s okay, we really didn’t care. As we walked to the main entrance of the park, you will pass the Silver Star Roller Coaster (sponsored by Mercedes Benz). Parts of this roller coaster are built around the parking lot!!! Insane! As you walk, you hear the people screaming hard like their about to die!

Here’s a picture of Silver Star…

The adrenaline rush starts with a view of Silver Star right as you arrive at the parking lot in Europa Park.

It’s 39 euros for Adults and 34 euros for children 4 and up. Children under 4 get in for free. I budgeted 100 euros for the day. I already had a ticket, (thanks to my neighbor!), so I only had to pay for one more. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés inside this giant park. FYI-You can also bring a bag pack with munchies. I brought in with me a small bag with water and fruits to snack throughout the day. This worked miracles while you wait in line for some of the rides! We tried to do the whole park, but couldn’t. You need at least 2 days to see it all.

Here’s the map…

The park itself is divided into Country Regions: Germany, France, Italy, England, Switzerland, Greece, Russia, Holland, Scandinavia, Iceland, Portugal, Spain and Austria. Adjacent to the Austria you will find Adventure Land. Here you can go to an African Safari on a jungle raft. Surrounding Adventure Land is the Enchanted Forest, in other words, a magical place for children!!! And next to this magical world of fairy tales, you will find Children’s World!!! These are 2 sections of the park you must….must, must, must visit with your children. They will love you, hug you, kiss you for taking them there!!! Even better…just join them! I did! Yeah, they stared (both kids and parents!), who cares! Jerks for not trying them! As soon as I saw those slides, I knew I had to test them! I had to go down those slides! Huge slides!!! Besides, its pretty much a given when you cannot go into the big kids rides because your child simply cannot ride them when they’re too little. Oh hell, despite all that, I had fun!

 HA! FUN!

The best time to visit the park is during October and December. During October, the entire park becomes a huge Halloween Village. They have a plethora of pumpkins everywhere, witches hanging out, ghosts and skeletons crawling out from creepy corners.

Take a look…

IMG_6138After Halloween comes the winter season, and according to their website, they turn it into a Winter Wonderland. I can’t wait to see it. This time, for sure we stay overnight at one of their hotels so that we can enjoy the rides as well as the events they offer at night! And….you can also do Snow Tubbing and Skiing….at the Park!!! I’m already excited about this. I’m telling you! I’m a big kid!!!
